Providing Educational Visits And
Displays Of Owls And Birds Of Prey

From humble beginnings the Owl and Bird of Prey Roadshow now takes birds to all parts of the country to show to the public and promote conservation and education.

We started in December 2005 when we answered an advertisement for some owls for sale. The owls had already been sold but the vendor knew of a gentleman wanting to move some Bengal Eagle Owls due to lack of room. Our headkeeper rigorously planned some aviaries and by March 2006 the birds came home. The moment when the birds were collected we remember saying "This is the moment when our lives change forever" and we have never said a truer word.

As the birds moved in and settled down we became aquainted with each individual character. It was like making new friends and more birds followed. It is quite surprising how many keepers throughout the country need to move birds on for a variety of reasons. We are able to take them and give them the care they need to be happy and well. Many of them have now, through the roadshow become friends to lots of people who often return to see them at our regular venues.

We also have facilities for injured wild birds of prey with a determination to return them to the wild once they can sustain themselves. The care of any wild species has always been and will continue to be, a very difficult and thought provoking subject.

However, our peers and the public all seem to agree that we are making an excellent job of it!
